References to organic in labelling of products
Organic-indicators are all references to the organic production method. These are:
• The terms organic, org, bio, eco, eko.
• The Community EU organic production logo.
You can list them on:
1. Label/packaging of pre-packaged products.
2. Receipt for unpackaged products.
3. Business to business packaging.
4. Invoice for trading companies.
5. Transport documents for storage company or service-providing producer.
6. Ingredient declaration for non-organic product made with organic ingredient.
The label / packaging of pre-packaged products must include:
• Your company name.
• Your company address (at least the location).
• Product name including a reference to organic.
• Identifying mark for traceability.
• EU Organic logo* The logo is required on any certified product.
• Code number of the control body of the country in which the product was produced/ packaged. Skal's code number is NL-BIO-01
• The origin of the agricultural ingredients must be stated. They can come from the EU (EU agriculture), outside the EU (non-EU Agriculture) or both (EU/non-EU Agriculture).

• Companies may state a specific country of origin if all the ingredients were farmed there.
• All ingredients are listed in descending order of weight and organic ingredients must be identified. (e.g. * organic ingredient)
Receipts for unpackaged products, packed at the selling point (meat or bread) must include:
•Company name
•Your company address (at least the location).
•Product name including a reference to organic.
• Identifying mark for traceability.
•NL-BIO-01 (Skal's code number).
•The details may be put on an accompanying document, for example a receipt or on a label.
•The EU organic logo may be used, but it is not compulsory. For the recognisability of the organic product, however, we advise you to use the logo.
Business to business packaging must state the following indicators:
• Company name.
• Your company address (at least the location).
• Product name including a reference to organic.
• Identifying mark for traceability.
• Code number of the control body of the country in which the product was produced/ packaged. Skal's code number is NL-BIO-01
• The EU organic logo may be used, but it is not compulsory. For the recognisability of the organic product, however, we advise you to use the logo.
Invoice for trading companies
All registered companies must make themselves known. As a trader, you must do this on the invoice. You include the following details:
• Company name.
•Your company address.
•Product name including a reference to organic.
•Identifying mark for traceability.
• NL-BIO-01 (Skal's code number).
Transport documents (delivery notes / CMR) for storage company or service-providing producers must indicate:
• Company name.
•Your company address.
•Product name including a reference to organic.
•Identifying mark for traceability
•NL-BIO-01 (Skal's code number).
Ingredient declaration for non-organic products made with organic ingredients may only state:
•Company name
•Your company address
•Identifying mark for traceability
•Code number of the control body of the country in which the product was produced/ packaged. Skal's code number is NL-BIO-01
• All ingredients are listed in descending order of weight and organic ingredients must be identified. (e.g. * organic ingredient).
•The percentage of organic ingredients. This is the l quantity of organic agricultural ingredients (for example: 60% of the agricultural ingredients are organic).
• The reference to organic and the percentage may not stand out in size, colour and font compared to the other indicators in the ingredient declaration.
• You may only refer to organic in the ingredient declaration.
